Mildred (Ullom) Spencer

Mildred (Ullom) Spencer, 93 of Belpre, Ohio died February 23, 2014 at her residence. She was born in Belpre, Ohio on October 21, 1920 and was the daughter of the late Thomas W. and Mary Deeble Ullom. She had been a long time member of the St. Mark’s United Methodist Church in Belpre where she had been in the choir. She had been very active with the Belpre Historical Society and had been Curator of the Belpre Farmer’s Castle Museum and Educational Center. 2013 Summer

Ground Breaking for new building

On April 11, 2013 the ground breaking was held for the new building at the Farmer’s Castle in Belpre.  There were several that attended the event including Mayor Mike Lorentz, Larry Holdren, Bob Stephens and many others.

Pam Thomas was also in attendance.  Pam is the person that start the project out with making a very generous donation of $100,000.  As of today about 90% of the funding is promised and the bids are getting ready to be sent out.
